Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia is a rare type of slow-growing, non-hodgkin lymphoma.
(a cancer that begins in the cells of the immune system)
It causes overproduction of a protein called monoclonal immunoglobulin M (IgM or “macroglobulin”) antibody.
Symptoms include weakness, swollen lymph nodes, severe fatigue, nose bleeds, weight loss, and visual and neurological problems;
• Waldenström macroglobulinemia is diagnosed using bone marrow biopsy and blood tests.
• Treatments for Waldenström macroglobulinemia in patients with symptoms may include plasmapheresis, chemotherapy, and/or biological therapy.

This is what I was disgnosed with back in November of last year.
For the last 6 months I have been living with a rare cancer of the blood, riding the emotional roller-coaster between:
denial, acceptance, anger and sadness, plus many trips to the Hospital for many blood tests and various treatments (including chemotherapy).
I have now been through 6 cycles of chemotherapy with only a limited success in treating the disorder.
Due to the limited success - I am now due to undertake a "more aggresive" round of Chemotherapy starting on 5th June.
This will consist of 2 consecutive days of chemotherapy every 28 days, for 6 cycles - using a more advanced chemical:
Bendamustine hydrochloride (a cytotoxic anticancer drug).
I had to wait for approval as this drug is not commonly available for treatment in Australia under the standard Medicare/PBS regime.
Unfotunately at present, Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia (WM) is not curable, only treatable.
No one knows what causes it - however it has been known to run in familes.

Taking your art seriously.......
I have for the last few years felt somewhat stifled by the fact that my art constantly gets stolen and put up elsewhere online either in one of those random "look at these great pencil drawings" type websites, or worse still there is an attempt being made to monetize my artwork in some way. Over the last few years, I have found someone trying to sell products with my Charlize drawing, trying to sell prints of my Debbie Harry/Bondie drawing, making photoshop brushes of some of my pinup artwork, re-appropriating my Cheree drawing into another artwork, another artist claiming that they have drawn my Charlize drawing, and on it goes.... all the above without my permission of course, most recently 4 of my drawings were put on OpenSea for sale as NFT's (thank you DA for alerting me to this). In most cases it becomes quite a time consuming act to get these removed (especially on the random websites). I have absolutely no issue with people downloading my art for the purposes of collecting it
DreamUp, and the Hegelian Dialectic
Deviantart recently rolled out it's new ai art feature named DreamUp. No sooner had it been released then a whole myriad of artists on the platform were up in arms regarding the new feature, due to the possibility/probability of the ai having been "trained" with all the existing artwork on the Deviantart platform. Not surprisingly upon hearing this news many users of the site have decided to leave the platform with this being the final straw in a steady decline in content and usability of the site over the last few years. Something that is really jarring to me is the huge amount of accounts being set up by non-artists who have seemingly been given a free platform by Deviantart to keep feeding their galleries with other artists or photographers copyrighted works without any checks by Deviantart themselves,. Ironically though, DA are willing to act as copyright police elsewhere on the web and will check whether your artwork is being used for example as an NFT on another site - just so
Someone is trying to sell my artwork as NFT's !!
Always check for other artists using your work....
I cannot even begin to explain how angry this kind of art theft makes me…... With this particular drawing, “Cheree” - I initially spent a lot of time sourcing the different references I wanted to use to create the drawing.
I then had to make them work as a new composition, ensuring that I also added my own style and drawing techniques, I also spent some time thinking up a suitable name for the character.
I then spent many hours actually drawing the picture, followed by many hours (over time) uploading it onto various websites and galleries, and thereafter answering any queries and comments.
With all the above considered, a certain person just came along and thought that he was entitled to just take my drawing/hard work and effort - and use it himself in his own piece - without even a thought about asking my permission to use my copyrighted artwork.
In addition they also had the hide to add their own signature at the bottom of their piece - giving the impression that he had made the
